The Alumni Meet at Francis Xavier Engineering College(FXEC) was held on 11th of November 2017 in a grand manner. The program started with the Prayer Song by the Choir of the teaching fraternity followed by Bible reading by Mr.Abhishek,Sofware Engineer,Infoview and a prayer by Ms.DeviPriya an entrepreneur.
Mr.Kumarasamy, the alumnus of the college from the first batch who is the President of Alumni Association and who works as Project Manager with Accenture welcomed the gathering. This was followed by the inaugural address of the Chairman Dr.S.Cletus Babu. The beloved Chairman wished all the alumni grand success in their lives and in all their endeavors. An inaugural video was played depicting the college from the genesis to the pinnacle of success and today’s FXEC. The alumni of the college were elated to see this video. The alumni of the college shared their memories at their Alma Mater. Mr.Ramaselvam,Project Manager, Infosys was the first one to share his sweet memories at his Alma Mater.
Dr.Gomathy,Professor at Krishna College. Dr.Gomathy, narrated how the college had molded her to be a leader by providing ample opportunities such as Symposia and Workshop. Mr.Vino who is a software engineer at Sharp, Bangalore also shared his memories and how his seniors and counterparts have provided him a friendly atmosphere during his tenure of study.
The Key members from the Management also felicitated the gathering. Mr.Ignatius Xavier, General Manager (Finance) put forth that the entire campus was filled with joyful aroma through the joy beaming in the faces of the alumni. He motivated the alumni to strengthen their activities.
Dr.K.Jeyakumar, currently the General Manager (development) and the then Head of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at FXEC related himself with the alumni who were his students at FXEC and recalled the past memories. He motivated the alumni to contribute to the Alma Mater in terms of MoUs, Internships and Placements.
Dr.V.Illangovan, Principal, FXEC updated the Alumni about the recent developments of the college such as NBA accreditation and NIRF ranking. He also presented the further plans for the college such as Industry Powered Lab, Centre of Excellence and further tie ups with the Industry. He encouraged the alumni that they can act as a bridge between the Institute and the Industry in the above context.
Mr.KrishnaKumar, the Administrative Officer of the College told the alumni that his heart was brimming with joy on seeing the alumni as a Parent experiences on seeing their offspring’s success and wish them all success.
Mr.Kuppusamy, the CTO of the college wished the Alumni Meet a grand success. He also invited the alumni to get associated with the Training and Placement Cell for the betterment of their juniors in terms of Internships, Placements and further Industry Connects.
A Video was played regarding the SCAD Social Project. Mr. Anand the Director for the SCAD project was welcomed by Mr. Kumarasami the President of the Alumni Association. Mr. Anand shared about the need for social service and provided an eye-opener to the Alumni about what SCAD is doing for the community development in terms of social service among the rural community such as Snake Charmers and the Salt pan workers. He invited the Alumni to join hands with the SCAD social development programs and also give lead in terms of the Corporate Social Activities (CSR) in their corporate forms.
A Cake-cutting was done to share the happiness of the day. The Alumni with their kids did the cake-cutting and shared their joy. The day was made colorful with the cultural activities of the alumnus.
Mr.Sankarmani, the Secretary of the Association who works as the Senior Manager at Aditya Infotech put forth the further action plan for the alumni association.
Further, Sharing of Memories was done by the alumni and the program closed with the Vote of Thanks by Mr. Arun, Assistant Manager, Renault Nissan. A fellowship Lunch was arranged and all the alumni enjoyed it. Post Lunch the alumni visited their respective departments to recall their sweet memories. The day ended with a group photo of the Alumni Meet.
Dr.G.Aravind Swaminathan and Mr.E.Manohar the Coordinators of the Alumni Cell have coordinated the activities of the day along with the Alumni of the College.
