The Alumni Meet-2018 of Francis Xavier Engineering College Alumni Association(FXAA) was organized at Hotel Vijaya Park, Arumbakkam, Chennai on 29th of September 2018. The event started with informal ice breaking games conducted by FXEC Alumnus (2009 batch) Mr.Selva Venkatesh who is working as an event manager with Tata Consultancy Services. The function started with a prayer, after the gathering of the Alumni with their families. Mr. Kumarasamy, the President of FXAA welcomed the gathering. Followed by his welcome address he honored Mr.C.Arun Babu, Managing Director, SCAD Group of Institutions and Mr.S.KrishnaKumar, Director, FXAA. Er.Kumarasamy, President of FXAA, who works as a Project Manager, Accenture,Chennai, Er.Sankarmani, Secretary of FXAA, who works as an Assistant General Manager in Adithya Infotech Limited, Chennai and Er.Arun Kumar, Treasurer of FXAA, who works as Assistant Manager in Renault Nissan were honored by Mr.C.Arun Babu for their active involvement. Mr.S.Krishnakumar, in his felicitation address presented the recent development of FXEC, remarkably the Alumni Association, Alumni Interactions and the recent achievements in students’ placement in TCS Ninja and in Sports by the FXEC Cricket team and so on. He also added the recent launch of a separate web portal for the alumni association through which the alumni can connect with the Alma mater and their batch mates. He also invited all the alumni to be in touch with FXAA which will serve as a platform to network among themselves.
Mr.C.Arun Babu, in his Presidential address congratulated Mr.S.Krishnakumar, Director, FXAA and the team for the various activities conducted by FXAA for the holistic development. He also reiterated that FXAA will act as a bridge for the betterment of the alumni. A Biannual Magazine named FXCONNECT was released depicting the various alumni interaction with the respective departments in the past 3 months. A Video was played about FXEC featuring the genesis of the college to the pinnacle of success in terms of Academics, Sports, Cultural, Placements and Alumni interactions which brought back the evergreen memories of the alumni. A Cake-cutting was done to celebrate the event in the presence of our Managing Director Mr.C.Arun Babu, the alumni and their kids. The Alumni batch of 2004 presented a memento to the Mr.C.Arun Babu, The Alumni of 2005 batch presented two Cricket kits for the Cricket team of FXEC. Ms.Selvalakshmi (Alumnus) who works with Syntel performed a classical dance. Mr.Abdul Kaseem, Alumnus and award winning athlete thanked the Managing Director for all the support to the athletic team of FXEC which enabled to win the Championship in Anna University. Mr.Raghavan(Alumnus) delivered a tamil poem. Various alumni groups shared their evergreen memories and acknowledged the alma mater for their development. A grand networking dinner was arranged to all the alumni. The event was organized with the blessings of Dr.S.Cletus Babu, Founder Chairman, SCAD group of Institutions.
